An emerging company that is building a smart planner to help patients and their caretakers keep track of their Cancer care needs is looking for a Data Engineer. The selected candidate will report to the Chief Data Scientist and will be responsible for the strategic direction and leadership for the overall data operations. The company??s modern technology enables patients to organize their care and track daily symptoms and side effects. Job Responsibilities:
- Architect and build the Data Warehouse, ETL processes, framework, and the BI environment
- Recognize and handle the data requirements of all business stakeholders
- Use Cloud Platforms to build scalable and fault-tolerant data applications that can store and analyze terabytes of data from upstream sources while maintaining high availability
- Create and manage systems in the company’s analytical environment to match identities and anonymize data
- Collaborate with information architects, platform architects, data scientists, and product management on solution requirements to design solutions
- Work with the quantitative teams to figure out what data is needed
- Create systems that allow for the quick and accurate extraction of information from all healthcare, device, and behaviour data
- Create and manage procedures that ingest, transform, enrich, and store a mix of structured (healthcare data, EHR, PROs, Devices, etc.) and unstructured (notes, radiology images, etc.) data while ensuring data quality
- Participate in the development, implementation, and quality assurance of products
- Make suggestions for process improvements in terms of data gathering, consumption, and storage
- Resolve high-impact issues/projects by examining complicated business processes, system processes, and organizational standards and procedures in detail
- Ensure that data management policies and procedures are followed
- Take ownership for the development, testing oversight, and production implementation using BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Data Catalog, DataFlow, and GCP
- Maintain databases and file systems that are upstream and downstream of the data warehouse
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor??s/Master??s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
- Prior experience as a Data Warehouse, BI, and ETL Technical Lead
- Proficiency and working knowledge of ETL, data warehousing, data lake technologies, and analytics concepts
- Experience owning multiple mission-critical applications on big data platform
- Conversant with batch and real-time data pipelines in a DevOps environment
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with globally located Agile teams
- Prolific skills in developing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships at all levels across business stakeholders
- Prior work experience working in healthcare and payer claims data
- Experience working with provider EHR data
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Adept and presenting complex topics, influencing and executing with timely/actionable follow-through
