Description



Literacy and Life Skills department at TCF is leading the non-formal education program for out-of-school-children in Pakistan in the 8-16 years age bracket. The department is looking to hire subject lead for Numeracy to primarily create and upgrade content for its teacher guides and student workbooks. Additionally, developing subject-specific content for community engagement, online teacher training resources and assessments will also fall within the purview of the Subject Lead.

  • Develop academic plans for modules of numeracy
  • Develop monthly unit plans for numeracy
  • Develop lesson plans and student workbooks for numeracy
  • Gather both qualitative and quantitative data from field visits on implementation of numeracy teaching and learning materials through classroom observations, interviews, focus groups, assessments and review of written documentation
  • Repurpose previously created formats and curriculum content in response to the information from the field and to meet the changing design and contextual needs of the program
  • Design teacher training content using latest EdTech tools
  • Maintain close communication with teachers to help them with their queries
  • Develop student assessments for numeracy
  • Develop subject specific training modules and teacher assessments
  • Develop work plans for content development for numeracy
  • Contribute to research and monitoring activities and reporting documents
  • Prepare clear, user-friendly reports, presentations, and data visualizations for the LLS team
  • Provide support in relevant cross-functional projects
  • Other activities related to the program



Required Skills


  • Experience of developing yearly and unit plans for numeracy
  • Experience in designing teacher guide/ lesson plans and students workbooks for numeracy
  • Experience of developing and administering student assessments
  • Experience of teaching children from primary or middle to secondary grades
  • Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse constituencies at the grassroots level
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Awareness of latest educational tools
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum for Numeracy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong command in speaking, reading and writing in English, Urdu and Sindhi (preferred for Sindhi)


Education


Bachelors / Masters (Preferably in Social Sciences, Education)



Experience



1-3 years of experience in research and design of education programs
