THE POSITION
The successful candidate will grow to grasp unique applications, be involved in the development, design and customization of challenging POS assignments and provide some technical customer support.
The candidate will have to provide full EST overlap time for first 5-6 months. After 5-6 months, employee can come back to normal timing where he will be required to overlap for 3-4 hours. In case of critical bug to be fixed, h/she will have to stay for a bit long
The successful candidate will work out of the Contour Software Lahore/Karachi resource center office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.
Job Responsibilities
- Improve existing applications to meet user needs by designing solutions, solving problems of various complexities, produce estimates for work to be done by programming, testing, debugging and documenting
- Work closely with project managers and analysts to gather customer requirements and modify existing features to meet those requirements as well as to produce detailed specification documents
- Liaise with QA and Support personnel to diagnose and fix issues found during QA and in production
- Take the initiative and manage multiple tasks in a timely fashion
- Work with the Magstar team in support of any ongoing projects, as required.
ORGANIZATION IMPACT AND CHALLENGES
- Must learn the terminology and concepts of the POS industry
- Must take the above knowledge and be able to trouble shoot, define and test issues
- reported by clients and those identified internally
- Balance between short term & long-term priorities for managing time and focus
- Compromise and deal with priorities coming from clients and internally
Job Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized University
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design as well as knowledge of C#, SQL, and Visual Studio, C, Linux are the keys to this role
- Experience with Android development is a plus
- Communication skills, both oral and written, with tact and a customer service
- Mindset is important as is taking initiative and managing multiple tasks in a timely
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is needed.
- Must possess general computer literacy and technical aptitude
- The willingness to learn the technical details of the application(s), including design and code is a must
- Be able to work alone without supervision as well as in a team environment
- Excellent time management skills and strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting ability
